Summer in Hadeland
The Hadeland Lag organizes tours to Hadeland every five years. The Hadeland Lag sponsored a tour in Hadeland and extended tour of Norway in 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015 and 2019. The next tour is planned for 2024.
Working closely with our counterparts in the Kontaktforum Hadeland-Amerika, the planners' goal is to bring Hadeland-Americans "back to their roots." The customized itinerary allows participants to retrace their Hadeland ancestors' footsteps as they visit the farms and churches where their ancestors lived and worshipped. The world-famous Hadeland Glassworks, Hadeland Folk Museum and other attractions are also on the agenda during what is intended to be an unforgettable journey!
Participants make their own travel arrangements to Norway and gather in Oslo. In 2019, members could choose to spend 3 days in Oslo prior to arriving for 5 days in Hadeland, and an extended tour has always been offered that provides an opportunity to see other parts of Norway after the visit to Hadeland. Each of the three segments of the tour (Oslo, Hadeland, and extended tour) is separately priced so you can choose to participate in 1, 2, or all 3 segments.
