  Born: February 23, 1878 on Grinihagen.  Emigration: April 15, 1898 aboard "Lucania," landing in New York.   Residences: Mascon, 3 yrs; Odina, 3 yrs; Star Prairie WI, 3 yrs; Grand Rapids MN, 2 yrs; Hudson WI, 2 yrs.  Occupation: Carpenter    Church: Lutheran   School: Public school in Norway    Parents: Farmer Martin Martinsen and Anne Andersdtr, died 1909.  Siblings: Anders Hagen, Norway; Peter Hagen, Emery R3 WI; Mrs. Kristofferson, Star Prairie R1, WI; John Hagen, Hudson WI.    Maternal Grandparents: Anders Hofstangen and Anne Hofstangen  Father's Siblings: Lars Myrstuen    

 

21-2 Thos Hanson                                Elgin, Clayton County WI

Name changed from Thorsten Hansen  Born: January 23, 1848 on Skøien in Lunner.  Emigration: March 1, 1869  Residences: Clayton County IA, 1869-1876; Plymouth County IA, 1876-1883; then returned to Clayton County.  Occupation: Farmer    Married: Elisa Baumgartmer. 1875. She was born in America of German parents.   Children: 8 sons, 9 daughters, but 2 sons and one daughter died.  Parents: Hans Anderson Skøien, Lunner (died 1867), and Mari Halvorsdtr Snellingen ( died in Clayton County IA at 94 years of age).  Siblings: Ole H Skøien.    

 

21-3 Erik Hansen Wien                         Wyndmere ND

  Born: July 20, 1861 Baptized: August of gthe same year. Confirmed: May 28, 1876 by Laster Lykken at Grans Church.   Emigration: March 31, 1882, aboard the "City of Rome," Inman Line, and arrived in Rothsay MN May 20 of the same year.  Residences: Homesteaded in Ransom township, Sargent County ND, January 1884. Moved to Wyndmere Township May, 1894, and have been there since.    Married: Gulbjør Bilden on January 9, 1883.  She was born July 10, 1857 and died Pentecost,1920. Children: One son, Henry, born September 19, 1889.  Parents: Hans Olsen Wien and Ingeborg Eriskdatter, born on Lysen in Tingelstad and now deceased.    Wife's Parents: Engebret Mikelsen (born on Augedal farm) and Kjersti Larsdatter Bilden, both deceased.    

 

21-4 Hans H Hanson                               Underwood MN

  Born: March 16, 1868 on the Gisleberg farm. Baptized and confirmed: North Gran Church in Hadeland.  Emigration: In 1885, arrived in Freeborn County MN May 19, 1885.   Residences: Now in Underwood, Ottertail  County MN    Parents: Father Hans Hanson and Mother, Mari Fredriksen.    

 

21-5 Mrs. Ole Hansen                               Lake Crystal MN

Maiden name was Kjersti O Ulven.  Born: May 4, 1872 on Ulven in Lunner.    Occupation: Farmer    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church.    Married: Ole Hansen in the Butternut Valley, 1897.  Children: Adelina, born 1899; Olga, born 1904; Einer, born 1908; all in Butternut.   Parents: Ole Larsen Ulven (born on Blakkerud in Gran) and Kari H. Skreberg (from Gran).   Paternal Grandparents: Lars and Mari Blakkerud  Maternal Grandparents: Hans Einarson Skreberg and Kjersti L Molstad, Gran.  Father's Siblings: Kristian Blakkerud, Gran; Anders Blakkerud, Skreberg, Gran; Berte Elken.

Name changed from Albert Hansen Virstadgrina.   Born: August 1, 1853 in Lunner, Hadeland.  Emigration: May 19, 1871 landing in Quebec.  Residences: Blanvchardville since 1874.  Occupation: Farmer, chairman.    Church: Lutheran    Married: Kari Jacobsen Mostadbraaten on June 1, 1874.   Children: Ida Milia, September 11, 1876; Hilda, February 4, 1878; Oscar, June 23, 1880; Willem, December 22, 1883; Alvin, January 13, 1887; Elmer, December 19, 1889; Bennet, July 14, 1892; Harry, September 23, 1896; all in Blanchardville.    Siblings: Ole Hanson, Sherman County SD; Gilbert Hanson, Argyle WI; Mrs. Herman Erikson, Blanchardville WI; Mrs. Knute Alfred, Blanchardville WI.  

 

 

22-2 Gilbert H Hanson                             Argyle WI, R Box 34

Name changed from Guldbrand Hanson.   Born: November 4, 1855 on Virstadgrinden.   Emigration: May 18, 1876 on "Anceoria" and landing in New York June 7.   Residences: Argyle WI  Occupation: Carpenter and farmer.   Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church.    Married: Marit L Dammen, January 15, 1881.  Children: Mrs. Anna Winger, 28; Mrs. Theodor Jackson, 27; Mrs. Peter Homb, 25; Mrs. Jenny Homb, 19; Mrs. Ed Smedsrud, 23; Hjalmar, 21; and Edvin, 15.  Parents: Hans O Hanson (born on Bolkeneie September 12, 1820; came to America in 1876, farmed in town of Argyle, died January 22, 1887) and Ingeborg Halvorsdtr haneknæ (born May 2, 1820 and lived  the end of her days in Blanchardville WI).  Siblings: O A Hanson, Sherman SD; Albert Hanson, Mrs. Herman Erivckson, and Mrs. Knudt Alfred, all Blanchardville WI.  

 

 

22-3 Helene Marie Harrison                  Colfax WI

  Born: July 14, 1886 on Undeliseidet  Emigration: On the "Tingvalla" landing in New York on May 14, 1891.  Residences: Baronet WI, 1-2 yrs; less than a year in Superior WI and 17 years in Clear Lake WI; since then in Colfax WI    Church: Lutheran Church    Married: Farmer Steiner Høieson from Telemark in 1892.   Children: Høie Harrison, born 1893 in South Superior WI; Martha Bolette, 1896; Anne Marie, 1900; Blanche Sylvia, 1902; George Nikolai, 1904; Esther Amalia, 1906; Sofie Karoline, 1908; Henry Melvin, 1911; all born in Clear Lake WI.   Parents: Farmer Brede Nilson (born December 16, 1826 on Framstadgjerdingen and died Octobert 9, 1904 in Black Brook WI) and Martha Hansdtr (born on Morstad December 21, 1821, and died April 1, 1906).   Siblings: Nils Bredesen, Muncie IN; Berthe Bredesdtr, Kvernerud, Hadeland; Mathe Bredesdtr, Lillestrøm    Father's Siblings: Peder, Halvor, Ole, Martin, Anna and Kjersti, who have lived with Ole Nilsen Framstad, Black Brook WI.  Mother's Siblings: Mari and Kari, both deceased.

  Born: December 20, 1873 in the town of Adams.     Residences: Green County WI.  Occupation: Farmer    Church: Evangelical Lutheran Church  School: "Common school"    Parents: Peder T Haug ( born in Hadeland and emigrated in 1869 aboard the sailing ship "Anna Delius," landing on June 27, 1869) and Goro Hvamstad, Hadeland.  Siblings: Marta Haug, Sophia Gelene, Tena and Albert Lewis, all living in Blanchardville WI.  Paternal Grandparents: Thorgrim haug and Margtha Bjørke.  Maternal Grandparents: Ole Larson and Martha Hansdtr    Mother's Siblings: Siri Egge, Hadeland.

  Born: February 9, 1875 in the town of York, Green County, Wisconsin.    Occupation: Teacher    Church: The Norwegian Lutheran Free Church.    Parents: Farmer Peter T Haug, Hadeland and Goro Olsdatter.  Siblings: Ole P Haug; Martha Haug; Sophie Haug; Albert Haug; all living in Blanchardville WI; Anne Marie (died 1900) and Henry Peter (died 1911).    Father's Siblings: Anders (deceased) and Siri, who married Haakon Kaaten.  

 

 

23-2 Christian E Haugen                      Hudson WI

  Born: July 19, 1868 in Gran.  Emigration: August 16, 1887 on the White Star Line, landing in New York.  Residences: Hudson WI  Occupation: Tailor and clothing store owner.    Church: Lutheran.  School: Married: Ellen B Iverson on September 4, 1896.  Children: William Emert, born June 30, 1899.  Parents: Erik A Haugen (tailor, born 1832 in Gran, Hadeland) and Ingeborg Johannesdtr (born in Valdres).  

 

23-3 Lars O Heier                                   Hudson, Lincoln County SD

  Born: January 20, 1870 on North Heier, Gran, Hadeland.  Emigration: June 1, 1870 aboard the "Angelo," landing in New York on June 29.  Residences: Minnesota, 2 yrs; Iowa, 2 yrs; and the rest of the time in South Dakota.  Occupation: Farmer    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church    Married: Clara R Anderson on May 2, 1899.  Children: Lawrence Rubin, 11, born in Iowa; Palmer Erling, 9, born in Lincoln County SD; Cornelia Jana, 7, born in Lincoln County SD; Martin Harald, 5, born in Lincoln County SD.  Parents: Farmer Ole Tømmeraas, born on Tømmeraas farm, Hadeland (deceased) and Ingeborg Halvorsdtr Lunder (deceased).  Siblings: Ole, Nelson County ND; Ingeborg and Hans, both deceased in Norway; Marie, Redwood County MN; Kjersti, Norway; Marte, died in Norway; Hans, on the Heier farm in Gran; Ivar, Redwood County MN; Thron on the Osten farm, Thingelstad, Hadeland.

  Born: in Lerdal    Residences: Freeborn, County MN  Occupation: Farm worker    Church: The Norwegian Lutheran Church.  School: Norwegian and English schools.    Parents: Carl Petter Kjos (born in Kristiania June 6, 1851) and Kari Kjos (born in Grans Parish August 16, 1852).   Siblings: Mrs. Ole Hagen, 509 River Street, Albert Lea MN; Miss Gina Hanson, 505 River Street, Albert Lea MN; Cora Hanson, same address; Mrs. Oscar Erie, Minneapolis MN.  Paternal Grandparents: Hans Peter Berntson and Kirsti Paulsdtr  Maternal Grandparents: Gulbrand and Ellena Kjella  Father's Siblings: Mikael GUlbrandsen and Hans Hanson.  

 

23-5 Thomas J Hilden                            Underwood MN

   Born: on the Hilden farm, Gran, Hadeland.  Emigration: 1871  Residences: First lived near Red Wing MN, then moved in 1879 to Ottertail County MN and have been there ever since. Occupation: Was a teacher in the public school for about 10 years.   School: Went to school in Red Wing.  Married: and lives on a farm in Torenskjold Township "where he can find out whatever you want to know about just about any Hadelander."  

 

 

23-6 B B Helmeid                                     Blanvchardville WI, R 1, Box 16

Name in Norway was Brede Børgesen Helmeid.  Born: January 13, 1852 in Gran, Hadeland.  Emigration: Aboard the "Manila," landing in Quebec June 26, 1869.   Residences: 38 years in Green County WI and 3 years in Fillmore County MN.  Occupation: Farmer    Church: The Lutheran Free Church  School: Gran, high school for 2 yrs.  Married: Emely G Burke on July 4, 1872.  Children: Benny, born September 21, 1873 and died in 1885; Mathilde, February 21, 1875; Berthe, September 18, 1877; Gina, December 25, 1879; John, July 29, 1883; Klara, February 21, 1892. All born in Green County WI.  Parents: Farmer Børger Christensen (born on Helmein in Gran) and Berthe Johannesdtr Alm from Gran.  Siblings: Johannes, a seminarian at Asker Seminary but first a teacher in Gran at the public school and senior teacher at churches in Tingelstad until 41 yrs old, died at 66; Christen contracted tuberculosis while in military service and died at 32 yrs of age; Ole, Madison, Lock County SD; Rønnaug, married Thron O Haakenstad, Garrison, Minnehaha County SD; Ingeborg, died a single woman in Minnehaha County SD; Anne, single, living in Brandbu, Hadeland. Paternal Grandparents: Kristen Børgersen Helmeid and wife Rønnaug.   Maternal Grandparents: Johannes Olsen Alm  Father's Siblings: Lars (died in Norway);  Thorer, who emigrated in 1869 and lives in South Dakota; Han, dead for many years after living on Børnflok.  Mother's Siblings: Christen, Amery WI; Haakon, Lafayette County WI; Anders and Ole, lived in Thingelstad Norway but are now both deceased.

  Born: October 1, 1859 on Heen, Ringerike  Emigration: May 14, 1880, arriving in New York on June 1, 1880.  Residences: In Minnesota for 1 yr; from 1881-1885 in Mayville and Portland ND; 1885-1897 in Hatton ND; 1897-1899 in Norway; 1899-1902 in Northwood ND; Adams ND.   Occupation: Businessman    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church    Parents: Christoffer Heen (born Marcvh 3, 1815 on the Heen Frm, Aadalen Parish, Ringerike and died February 27, 1860) and Goro Helgesdatter Kløstad (born January 28, 1830 on the Kløstad farm, Gran Hadeland, and died July 27, 1869.)  Siblings: Erick C Heen and Gudbrand C Heen, both on Heen, Aadalen, Norway.    Maternal Grandparents: Helge Throndsen Kløstad and Rangdi Larsdatter Kløstad (born March 12, 1810 on Lynne farm, Gran, Hadeland, and died in 1883).  Father's Siblings: Marthe, married Anders BErgsum of Aadalen.

  Born: June 7, 1860 on Nordstuen, Hilden  Emigration: 1880  Residences: Spring Grove, Blackhammer MN; North Dakota.  Occupation: Farmworker, painter, owned a restaurant, tenant farmer; now own a farm; Postmaster in Spring Grove.    Married: Anne Sofie Nilson from Trondhjem  Children: Hans, 27; Marie, 21; Josefine, 19; and two deceased.  Parents: Hans Hansen Hilden (deceased) and Marte Jonsdatter (deceased).  Siblings: Marie Hansdtr, Northwood ND; Martha Hansdtr, Northwood; Julius Hansen, deceased.     Half-Siblings: Hans Hansen (deceased); Kjersti Baarsund, Røken Norway; Anna Hvamstad, Helgeslandsmoen, Norway; Anders Hansen (deceased); Gulbrand Hansen, Nelson County ND

Name changed from Iver Ditlefsen Framstad-Eidet.  Born: December 13, 1853 in tenant farmer's residence of Haugsbakken owned by the Haug farm in Vaslia, Framstad.  Emigration: 1880, on the "Nordiske Lady," arriving in Nicollet County MN on June 9 and have been here ever since.    Occupation: Farmer  Military Service: In Kristiania with the Second Battery, Artillery.  Church: The Norwegian Synod  School: Public School  Married: Johanna Johannesdatter Vibergs-Eidet from Vardalen on December 13, 1877. She died in 1912.  Children: Julie Isabel, January 5, 1883 in New Sweden MN.   Parents: Shoemaker Dutkef Ingebretsen Husenbakken, Gran and Ingeborg Thorstensdatter, Gomserud.   Siblings: Kari Hvalgjerdingen, Norway; Thorsten, died in Black River Falls WI; Simon, died in Spring Valley MN.  Paternal Grandparents: Ingebret and Siri Husenbakken  Maternal Grandparents: Thorsten Wall and Kari Kolkjin   Father's Siblings: Kjersti, Anne, and Siri in Norway, Kari, Postville IA.    Born: July 9, 1848 on North Hilden.   Emigration: April 16, 1866 aboard the "Nymphen," and arriving in Winona MN on June 24.   Residences: 4 yrs in Winona, then homesteaded in Chippewa County and for the last 7 yrs have lived in Watson.   Occupation: Farmer     Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church    Married: Ingeborg Andrea H Wrallstad on December 29, 1871.    Parents: Farmer Hans Haavelsen Hilden (north), (died 1862 in Norway at the age of 54) and Dorthea Gulbrandsdtr Hilden (born September 9, 1819 and died in America April 9, 1900)  Siblings: Gulbrand H Hilden, Watson MN; Anders H Hilden, Watson MN; Lars O Stensrud, Watson MN.  

 

25-2 John Holm                                      Glendive MT

From Holm, Gran, Hadeland.   Born: April 29, 1883.  Emigration: March 1, 1903 aboard the "Ivernia," landing in New York on April 12.   Residences: 2 yrs in Nora Springs IA; 6 yrs at Hudson.  Occupation:  Carpenter    Church: Lutheran    Parents: Farmer Per Holm on the farm Husa in Moen, Hadeland and Marie Holm (born on Hvamstad).  Siblings: Berthe Holm, Hudson WI.  Paternal Grandparents: Jens and Oline Husa  Maternal Grandparents: Ole and Berte Hvamstad  Father's Siblings: 2 brothers in America and 3 in Norway, and a sister in Norway.  

 

25-3 Gulbrand Olsen Hovlandseie     Forest City, Winnebago County IA   

   Born: June 1, 1835 on Falang in Gran.  Emigration: September 17, 1869, aboard the "Peruvian," arriving in Winnishiek County IA on October 14.  Residences: Winnishiek County IA, 3 years; Worth County IA, 3 yrs; Winnebago County, 16 years.  Occupation: Farmer and church song leader for 16 years.  Military Service: In Norway for 5 years.  Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church    Married: Guro Kristoffersen from Telemark; married twice.  Children: 6 from the first marriage and 3 from the second (Carl, Berthe, and Syver).  Parents: Ole Hanson and Jørund Olsdatter.  Father was born in Lynner, Hadeland and Mother was born at Aasgjeld in Hallingdal.  Siblings: 5 brothers in America, 4 in Ottertail County MN.  Paternal Grandparents: Sigrid Olsdatter Haugen and Hans.

Name changed from Gulbrand Halvorsen Stubberud Horgeneidet.  Born: April 2, 1859 on Rustadbakken in Hurdalen.  Emigration: April 5, 1881 aboard the "Algeria."  Residences: 1 yr in Fayette County IA; 4 yrs in Clayton County IA; since then in Mitchell County IA.  Occupation: Painter and farmer    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church    Married: Ingeborg Pedersen Paulsrud, Framstadeidet on February 7, 1881, in Gran.  Children: Henry G Horgen, born July 13, 1883; Klara Horgen (deceased); Melvin, November 9, 1887; Edvin, July 1, 1889; Cora, September 4, 1892; Ingvald, June 26, 1895; Gilmen, February 19, 1898; Amanda, March 3, 1900; Oscar, November 14, 1902; Clarence, December 2, 1906. The first born in Fayette County IA, the rest in Mitchell County.  Parents: Halvor Gulbrandsen (born on Rustadbakken in Hurdalen in 1828, emigrated to America in 1883; died in Floyd County IA, 1886) and Mari Gulliksen (born on Lunbyeidet in Hurdalen on October 8, 1837).   Siblings: Anne Halvorsdtr Bakken, Gran; Hanna Halvorsdtr, Molstad, Hadeland; Margrete Halvorsdtr (deceased).  Paternal Grandparents: Gulbrand Halvorsen, Rustadbakken, and Marie Amundsdatter Bogen, Eidsvold.   Maternal Grandparents: Gullik Olsen Homle, Lunbyeidet and Maria Andersen.  Father's Siblings: Anne Gulbransen and Maria Gulbrandsen, both deceased.
