  Born: February 18, 1852,  South Horgen farm.  Emigration: 1872 aboard "Concordia."  Residences: 3 yrs in Minnesota, 3 yrs in Winneshiek County IA, and since 1878 in South Dakota.  Occupation: Farmer, county commissioner 1908-1912.    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church.  School: public school in Norway.  Married: Ingeborg Pedersdatter in March of 1877 in Iowa.   Children: Oleander; Julius (deceased); Clifford, Mrs. (Lovise) A E Ayers; Mrs. Julia Coole, all in Lake County SD.  Parents: Ole Jensen (born on South Horgen December 24, 1825) and Siri Larsdatter (born on Framstad October 13, 1824), both are deceased.  Siblings: Lars, farmer in Lake County SD, married with 10 children; Kari, married in Lake County SD; Marte, married in Minnehaha County SD; Kjersti, married in North Dakota.    

 

46-2 Olaf H Olsen                                 Portland ND

From Nesetbakken, Ransfjord.  Born: November 3, 1883.  Emigration: 1900, aboard the "Oceanic," landing in New York on August 1.  Residences: Montevideo MN; Portland ND.  Occupation: Restaurant owner    Married: Lillie I Mehus on July 6, 1909.     Parents: Ingebret Olsen (born on Haga farm, Norderhov, Ringerike and died in the Randsfjord Hotel in 1889) and Helene Olsen (born on Sandsvær near Kongsberg). Owner, Randsfjord Hotel.   Siblings: Farmer Lorentz Olsen, Blaisdell ND; Kristine Olsen, Randsfjord Hotel, Hadeland; and Mrs. Dorthea Haug, Gjella Station, Norway.   

 

46-3 A A Onsager                                Northwood ND

Name changed from Anders Andersen Jægersborg.  Born: February 14, 1849 on Jægersborg, Onsagereidet.  Emigration: October 14, 1868, landing in New York on November 5.  Residences: Until 1881, in Allamakee County; since then in Northwood ND.  Occupation: Farmer     Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church     Married: Maren Iversdatter Bentestuen in June of 1876.  She died May 22, 1892.  Second marriage to Guri Tollefsdatter Skrinden on November 12, 1897.   Children:  Marie, April 28, 1877-November 27, 1877; Iver, December 20 1878-August 25 1879; Anne, August 15, 1880; Albert, August 28, 1884; Maria, February 9, 1889; Thorvald, May 15, 1898; Alfred, February 23, 1900; Alvin, February 6, 1903.  Parents: Tenant farmer Anders Pedersen (born May 19, 1815 in Gran, came to America in 1873, and died in Allamakee County IA on September 13, 1897) and Mari Olsdatter Malkjevneidet (born February 9, 1817, died September 1, 1884).   Siblings: Peder, b 1842 (deceased); Marte, b. 1845 (deceased); Ole, b. 1847 (deceased); Anders, b. 1849; Maria, b. 1851; Hans, b. 1853 (deceased); Brede, b. 1858; Michael, b. 1862.   

 

46-4 O A Opperud                                 Minneapolis MN, 607 Broadway

  Name changed from Olaus A Myrbraaten  Born: May 7, 1862 in Jevnaker, hadeland.   Emigration: April 14, 1880 aboard the "Republic," landing in New York on May 5.   Residences: 2 years in Jackson County MN, and since then in Minneapolis MN.  Occupation: Foreman.   

 

46-5 A T Olerud                                    Wentworth SD

   Born: March 22, 1891 on North Løvlien.  Emigration: June 8, 1910 aboard the "Cedric," arriving in New York on June 20.   Residences: Delavan MN; Wentworth SD.  Occupation: Farmer    Church: The Norwegian Synod.  School: Public School, high school/school that follows basic elementary education    Parents: Iver Løvlien Olerud, farmer (born March 27, 1865 in North Løvlien; in 1900 moved to North Olerud) and Anne Olerud (born January 20, 1866 on North Olerud).  Siblings: Martha, married to N H Tingelstad, Hen Station, Norway; Jens Olerud, Hen Station, Norway; Anne, Peder, Ivar, and Ellen Olerud, Jaren Station, Norway.  Paternal Grandparents: Anders and MarteLøvlien  Maternal Grandparents: Jens P and Anne Olerud  Father's Siblings: Andrew Lee, Wentworth SD; John Lee, Hudson WI; Peder Lee, Hudson WI. Name changed from Christen Gundersen Olimb Slaatbraaten.  Born: July 10, 1857 in Lunner, Hadeland.  Emigration: May 20, 1880 aboard the "Hohenstaufen," landing in New York June 6.  Residences: Sacred Heart MN; Star Prairie SI; Barronette Wi; arrived in Northwood ND on May 5, 1883; moved to Granville ND in 1901.   Occupation: Lumber & harness business; farmer; school board treasurer; township treasurer; town supervisor and chairman for 8 years.    Church: Lutheran Free Church.  School: Norwegian public school.  Married: Kari Greftegreff on January 1, 1886.  Children: Oline Kestine, 29; Clara Kristine, 27; Gina Marie, 25; Thilda Sophie, 23; Gunder, 22; Ole, 19; all born near Northwood ND; and Joseph, died at 1 1/2 years of age.  Parents: Farmer Gunder Christenson (born on Kjørven, Lunner, on September 16, 1821; came to America in 1851 and lived near Northwood ND to the end of his days) and Olene Hansdatter (born in 1829 on West Song and died May 15, 1882 in Norway).   Siblings: Hans Gunderson, Northwood ND; Lars G Olimb, Sharon ND; Otto G Olimb, Keif ND; Sophia Krabseth, Ray ND; Karen G Olimb, Balfour ND; Petra G Olimb, Keif ND; Gunder died in Norway at 1 1/2 years of age.  Paternal Grandparents: Christen Larsen (born on the Gulen farm in Gran) and Gunild Kalvsjø of Lunner.  Maternal Grandparents: Hans Pettersen Song from Jevnaker, Hadeland, and Sigri.  Father's Siblings: Lars Christensen Kjørven, Kari Rya, Berthe Putten, Gudbjøn Lynne, Gran; Karen Kalvsjøhagen, all born in Lunner Hadeland, and all died at an old age in Norway.   Mother's Siblings: Peter Song; Karen Sigri; Anne, all on Walrud farm, all deceased.

Maiden name Kari Olsdatter Greftegreff.  Born: March 20, 1857 in Jevnaker, Hadeland.  Emigration: August 5, 1880 landing in New York on August 15.  Residences: Lanesboro MN; Warren MN; Northwood ND.     Church: The Lutheran Free Church.    Married: C G Olimb on January 1, 1886.  Children: (See C G Olimb, Granville ND)  Parents: Farmer Ole G Greftegreff (Jevnaker, Hadeland, born February 19, 1830, died May 30, 1914) and Kerste Olsdatter Werstad (bgorn February 6, 1834 and died February 13, 1913).  Siblings: Oline FGrøslee, died at age 53 in Vining MN; Gulbran Grfgetgreff, Dyrlæge, died in Mayville ND in 1897; Thrond and Olaf, Kristiania, Norway; Maria, living on Kaarstad, Jevnaker, Hadeland.  Paternal Grandparents: Gulbrand Greftegreff and Kari Halvorsbøle.   Maternal Grandparents: Ole and Kari Werstad.  Father's Siblings: Berte, Mari, Johanne and Karen.  Father's Half-Siblings: Gudbjøn and Hans, Sjøen, deceased.   Mother's Siblings: Thron Ole Hans Werstad, Marte Bjøralt, Karen Bjørge, Helen Haakenstad.

Name changed from Christen Olson Paulssæterhagen.  Born: April 22, 1844 on Paulsæterhagen, North Moen, Tingelstad.   Emigration: 1867, on the "Anna Delius" arriving in Argyle Wisconsin in the middle of June.   Residences: Argyle WI, 4 yrs; Yellowstone WI, 3 yrs; New Orleans LA.  Occupation: Farmer    Married: Marie Gundersen from Sigdal on April 19, 1874.  She is deceased.  Children: Oscar; Joe; Clarence; Clara, married to Dr. Danken; Alma, married to Dr. Coelete; Ida, Nora.  Parents: Ole Christen and Kjersti Jonsdatter.

  Born: October 8, 1844 on Kammerud in Gran Parish.  Emigration: In 1870, aboard the "Roska," landing in Quebec on June 18.     Occupation: Farmer    Church: Hauges Synod.    Married: Terina Olsen on December 28, 1867.  Children: John, Gertie, Ella, Andrew, St Paul MN; Sofie Berge, Stanley WI; Ole, New Lisbon WI; Mrs. Bertha Hansen, Lillie Grun, Mauston WI.  Parents: John A Onsager (farmer, born in 1818 in Gran Parish).  Siblings: Ole J Onsager, Mauston WI; Ever J Onsager, Hillsboro WI.    

 

48-4 Anna Marie Paulson                    Northwood IA

Maiden Name Anna Marie Larson. From Bratholdt farm, Lunner Annex, Hadeland.  Born: May 4, 1848  Emigration: 1868 aboard the "Tingvalla" Line.    Occupation: Farmer   Military Service: Her husband, who is sickly,  fought in the war for 3 1/2 yrs.  Church: The Norwegian Synod    Children: None  Parents: Mother's maiden name was Else Olsdatter Bratholdt.  Siblings: Iver Larson, Montevideo MN.  

 

48-5 Ole P Paulsen                                Blanchardville WI       

From Argyle, WI.  Born: November 21, 1859.    Church: Venlid Church    Married: Jane Sorum on March 4, 1889.  Children: Oscar, 21; Alice, 17; Lamont 14; and James, 9.  Parents: Peder Paulson Tohen (born in Lunner, emigrated to America in 1852) and Elisabeth Jorde (born in Lunner).

Name changed from Christian I Prestkværn.  Born: February 27, 1853, on Prestkværn, Gran, Hadeland.  Emigration: May 18 (?), landing in New York.  Residences: Lafayette County WI  Occupation: Carpenter    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church.  School: public school in Norway.    Parents: Miller Ivar Fillipson Prestkværn (born 1809) and Anne Karlsdatter Vendonne.  Siblings: Martha Johnson, Argyle WI, R2, Box 19; Mrs. Minnie Jackson, Argyle WI, R2, Box 20; Erik Ivarson Prestkværn, Jaren Station, Norway.  Paternal Grandparents: Fillip Ellingsen, Molden North, and his wife Anne.  Maternal Grandparents: Karl Vøien and Anne Ellingsdtr Molden.  Father's Siblings: Elling, Ole, Lars and Thor Molden.

  Born: September 22, 1853 on Haugshagen, Jaren Station   Emigration: In 1866 on the sailing ship "Ringhorn," landing in Quebec on June 20.  Residences: 5 yrs in Columbia County WI, and since then  Goose River, ND.  Occupation: Farmer    Church: The Norwegian Synod.    Married: First marriage, Tonette N Skogstad from Valders on August 3, 1878. She died August 18, 1886. Second marriage to Mari Rime from Krødsherredden on January 16, 1887.   Children: Marie, Nils, Tonelius, Kalmer, Palvin, Alpha, Oliver, Ragna, and Peter Adolph.  Parents: Paul Pederson Sørum (deceased) and Marie Ingebrigtsdtr (born of Helgagersbraaten).  Siblings: Mrs. Halvor Pederson Raastad and Mrs. Hans H. Molden, Mayville ND.    Father's Siblings: Halvor, Sørum, deceased; Anders Morstad, deceased; Ingebrigt Morstad, deceased; and Pernille Haugsbakken, deceased.  Mother's Siblings: Johan Holter and Anders Sløbraaten.

  Born: May 17, 1854  on the ship "Christina " during the Atlantic crossing. The ship landed in Quebec.    Occupation: Farmer Supervisor, Town Clerk, Justice of the Peace, School Clerk, named county treasurer and since then elected two more times;vice chairman for Polk and Norman County Sanatorium Commission and Vice chairman for Minnesota Total Temperance Society since 1909.    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church  School: Public school and Luther College, Decorah IA.  Married: Ingeborg Sjursdatter Bakkethun on April 11, 1879.    Parents: Gulbran Peterson Brynsaas (born April 17, 1816 on Dvergsten, Brenna in Gran, Hadeland) and Anne Pedersdatter Rongstad.  Siblings: Peter G Peterson, Nicollet County MN (veteran of the Civil War in th 1860's; was with (General) Grant and later with (General) Sherman on his memorable March to the Sea); Marte, married  a Richardson, Nicollet County MN; Johanne, married a Conklin, Mankato MN; Pauline, married a Lee, Nicollet County MN.   Paternal Grandparents: Peder Karsten Brenna.      Father's Siblings: Christen Peterson, came to America in 1852 and died in St Paul MN; Torger Peterson, came to America in 1853 and died in Nicollet County; Randi Pedersdatter, born in Hadeland in 1811, died in Nicollet County in 1896.

   Born: March 27, 1853 in Koshkonong, Dane County WI.      Residences: Dane County WI, 3 yrs; Nicollet County MN.    Parents: Christen Pederson (born in Gran, Hadeland on Brenna, on the Dvergsteen farm; came to Amerika in 1851; moved to Brighton MN in 1856).

Name changed from Peder Elvestuen.  Born: March 8, 1863 in Brandbu.   Emigration: In 1881, aboard the "Angelo," landing in New York on May 23.   Residences: Iowa, 2 yrs; Cass County ND, 3 yrs; since then in Litchville ND.  Occupation: Farmer    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church.    Married: Sigrid Anne Haarsager on June 26, 1897. She was born in Nordland.  Children: Emma Christine, May 16, 1899; Alma Pauline, January 6, 1901; Louis, February 13, 1903; Clara, March 25, 1909; Alvin Joseph, July 10, 1911. All born in Litchville ND.   Parents: Blacksmith Erik A Elvestuen (born in Brandbu) and Petra Pedersdatter (born November 26, 1834 in Jevnaker).   Siblings: Amund Roksvold, Litchville ND; Anne Rocksvold, Northwood ND; Kari Rud, Brandbu, Norway; Ingebrigt Elvestuen, Røikenviken, Hadeland, Norway.  Paternal Grandparents: Settled in Iowa in 1860.

  Born: April 24, 1841 on Roknerud in Gran.  Emigration: May 2, 1866 aboard the "Belgien," landing in Quebec.   Residences: 2 yrs in Waupaca WI; 1 yr in Winnishiek County IA; since then in Polk County WI.  Occupation: Farmer    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church    Married: Kari Arnes Teslov April 14, 1864.  Children: Halvor, September 25, 1864 (deceased); Anton, July 1, 1867 (deceased); Helene Marie, May 10, 1870; Ludvig, January 19, 1874; Emma Amalie, May 30, 1876 (deceased); Mina Caroline, January 9, 1880 (deceased); Anna Lovise, August 15, 1883; Carl Edvin Alfred, September 10, 1888.  Parents: Halvor Eriksen Raknerud and Maren Larsdatter, Lyngstad.  Siblings: Lars, Erik, Kari (deceased), Anne, Marte (deceased).

   Born: October 17, 1853 on Upper Rognstad.  Emigration: With parents on the "Anna Delius," landing in Quebec in 1867.  Residences: Green County WI, 4 yrs; thereafter in Canton SD until 1879, since then Hanson County SD.  Occupation: Farmer    Church: The Norwegian Synod.    Married: Gertrude Weflen from Vang in Valders on May 5, 1881.  Children: Celia, 32; Olive, 28; Selma Olena, 25; Tilla, 21; Oscar, 19.  Parents: Ole Gudbrandsen Rognstad and Siri Guttormsdatter Klevstad.  Siblings: Mrs. Anna Rossum, Canton SD; Mrs. Margaret Peterson, Canton SD; Brede Olsen, died in Hanson County SD in 1898.    

 

50-3 A E Rossum                                     Hudson SD

   Born: November 12, 1871 on the Rossum farm in Brandbu, Hadeland.  Emigration: Aboard the "Bothnia" in May, 1889, landing in New York on May 18.  Residences: Hudson SD, 1889-1899; Balfour ND, 1899-1905; Hudson SD since 1905.  Occupation: Farmer    Parents: Even E Rossum (born September 16, 1835) and Anne Grumsrud (born on south Grimsrud in Brandbu in 1841).  Father was the farmer on Fødested until 1890 when he came to Hudson SD.  He lived there until 1898 when he moved to Hankinson ND for a year. Thereafter he lived in Carson ND where he died on September 8, 1910. Siblings: Erick Rossum, Hudson SD; Ole E Rossum, Montana; N E Rossum, Carson ND; Mrs. Marie C Pfluger, Carson ND.  Paternal Grandparents: Erik Raasum and Margrete Grinaker.  Maternal Grandparents: Erik Grimsrud and Mari A Molden.  Father's Siblings: Ole E Rossum, who came to America in 1860, settling in Lincoln County SD in 1871; after 3-4 years he moved to Canton where he lives now; Knudt E Rossum, also came to America in 1860 living in Spring Grove and then moving to Lake Park MN where he lives now.

  Born: January 27, 1874 on Runden in Brandbu.  Emigration: April 1, 1883 aboard the "Tingvalla," landing in New York on April 22, 1883.  Residences: Gary MN, 6 yrs; since then in Hayward MN.  Occupation: Farmer and contractor.     Church: The Norwegian Synod.    Married: Caroline Johnsen on September 18, 1900.  Children: Cora, Ruth, Edna and Ester, all born in Hayward MN.  Parents: Carpenter and farmer Gulbrand T Runden and Anne Christensdatter Sletmoen (born November 13, 1828 on Sletmoen, Brandbu).  Siblings: Anne, Christian, Thorsten, Jakob, all in Hayward MN; Albert, Albert Lea MN; Marte, Glenville MN; Anne, deceased.  Paternal Grandparents: Thorsten Amundsen Braaumsmoen and Anne Gudbrandsdatter.  Maternal Grandparents: Christen Jakobsen and Kari Gulbrandsdatter, Sletmoen.  Father's Siblings: Lumberman Amund Braaumsmoen.
